Fignition the DIY 8 bit.

I have built and assembled my Fignition computer! You can see one being built in this blog in the BBC video in this blog!
There is a great community that helps with the programing side.

I have built a console for it, you can see the video here.

Now that the building fun is complete for now, I have to get to grips with the language Forth.

Having Stacks of Fun! (lol)

PS. this is the inspiration for the  need to build a computer.

Build your own teletex pages!

As you can see, I like my teletext pages, you would think that they were a thing of a byegone age, however they are still used in Bookmakers and on some terestial tv stations around the world.

I want to share a web site that allows you to download a very easy to use teletext editor- and some instruction on how to use.

heres one I made earlier!

good luck every one!

Tribute to Digitiser

Digitiser on Teletext was written by Mr Biffo who has also wrote for among other things- Eastenders!
If you want to relive digitiser you can do so here the page has not been updated for a while but thanks to the creators of the tribute page, I hope you are well.

"Hello love, I'm Captain H.M. 'Howling Mad' Murdock, ker-ayzee member of those great '80s soldiers of fortune: The A-Team! I always read the excellent Digitiser - the games mag on Channel 4 Teletext. Except: I don't. I was lying - do you see?"

"But despite this, I am here to introduce you to Chris Bell's really rather lovely Digitiser tribute site; Super Page 58: here..."

How to build an 8bit computer

see the BBC video here.

Half a century after the microprocessor was conceived, Ellie Gibson has recreated one of the first computers that incorporated the technology.
With the help of classic computer collector John Honniball, she built a machine with a simple 8-bit processor.
The Fignition computer was designed by Julian Skidmore as a self-assembly kit.
Early construction kits and home computers, such as the ZX Spectrum and Acorn, had similar circuitry and capacity.

C64 brought back to life with keyrah.

I ordered a keyrah usb interface from Vesalia my old dead Commodore 64 it allowed me to run Frodo emulator on the wii, really easily.

You will agree that Bruce Lee is one of the coolest games for the C64 ever.

Building an arcade stick.

Hi, I wanted to show you pictures from a project that I did a Little while back, the inspiration came from an old copy of retro gamer, a letter from Tony Redpath in Vol2 issue 3.

I used an old ps2 controller and soldered directly on to the tracks and then in turn put the wires in to blocks to make an interface of sorts, this came in handy when continuity testing.

I made the box out of an old cd tower (don't tell my uncle,it was a present) and used the hardboard backing to experiment with button positioning,I got the buttons from ebay and fitted them up with the interface box to test it out.

The final step was to replace the hardboard for a sheet of MDF, I then covered the whole thing with Fablon in Mockhogany for effect.

Astro Tennis is here!

I have just completed a kit that a found from an electronics factor out my way. The assembly was very straight forward, the casing and the controllers were ad libs that I constructed for ease of use. Look out for those curly wires! total cost £20.

and here on the tellycase.
